Singings in Ider, Alabama

DeKalb County, in the northeast corner of Alabama, encompasses the productive agricultual land atop the plateau of Sand Mountain.  It is also one of the pockets where the tradition of singing from the Sacred Harp carried through intact from the 1800s.  The town of Ider is home to many of these traditional singers.
